Scheme
in detail...
Collect@Work
is a scheme run alongside the Collect4School and Collect4Charity
schemes where you can collect used printer cartridges
and old mobile phones for good causes at work by having
a collection box in the workplace.
Collect@Work in detail
You collect empty printer cartridges and mobile phones
by getting work colleagues interested in the Collect@Work
scheme and then put the items in collection boxes in
your workplace. We will collect them from you free of
charge for recycling. If you are collecting for a school
and only collect small quantities of items you may of
course choose the 'green option' and take them into
school yourself, so that we do not unnecessarily waste
resources and pollute the environment in sending someone
to collect. We will pay your chosen school or charity
for items that we can recycle!
The Collect@Work scheme is completely FREE and simple.
There is no charge for anything that we give you as
part of our scheme; as we factor in our costs to the
prices that we pay your chosen cause for recyclable
items. So, it is free to join, all resources are provided
free of charge and collection of your goods is free
too. We even operate a freephone support number.
When you join the Collect@Work scheme (you can sign
up online or contact us)
you can request how many collection boxes (you may of
course choose the 'green option' and re-use a suitable
box or container you already have) you need.
Collect@Work Coordinators will be given a username and
a password so that you can visit our web site at any
time to download (and then print and photocopy if you
wish) posters and other resources to help you make the
most of the Collect@Work scheme. Our web site will give
suggestions and advice.
When your collection boxes are full you will need to
contact us so that we can
arrange a collection. Straightforward packaging guidelines
are given inside the log in
section. Collection will usually be within one or two
days of your request.
When the items arrive at our collection depot they will
be sorted and counted. Inside the log in section the
Collect@Work Coordinator will be able to view how much
the items are worth. We aim to pay your nominated school
or charity by cheque or BACS within a month of every
collection valued at £10 or over. Please be patient
however, as we do get some very busy periods! We will
also contact you to let you know how much you and your
colleagues are contributing to your chosen cause.
The Collect@Work and Collect4
recycling schemes are operated by Johnson Recycling
Ltd. (a licensed broker and carrier of waste). We believe
that protecting the environment through sustainable
development is important and our schemes are an ideal
way to get the whole community involved with saving
our planet whilst fundraising for valuable causes.
